Theory courses provide a wonderful compliment to practical boating experience and tuition and Elements Watersports is able to deliver you a range of Theory courses and exams either in the classroom, in conjunction with a Practical Course or by Home Study.
Learning was never so easy. With the introduction of home study packs you can learn in the comfort of your own home at your own pace. These courses are ideal for people who cannot attend a classroom based course due to a busy schedule or geographical location.
Or we can deliver these courses to your organisation or sailing club members at your venue.

Marine VHF Radio Home Study & exam $65
The Marine VHF Radio Operator assessment is only recognised within New Zealand.
Includes: Marine Radio Operator Manual, Study Guide and CD-Rom.
This is the minimum requirement for all users of Marine VHF Radio
Maritime Restricted Operators Certificate Home Study & exam $85
The Maritime Restricted Radio Operator assessment is only recognised worldwide.
Includes: Marine Radio Operator Manual, Study Guide and CD-Rom.
The minimum requirement for commercial operators and users of MF/HF (SSB) radio
GPS Operator Home Study & exam $60
Includes: GPS Operator Manual, Study Guide, and Assessment Pack.
An advanced course to enable safe navigation and use of GPS.
Inboard Engine Maintenance Home Study & exam $70

A comprehensive course covering diesel inboard care, maintenance, and trouble-shooting.
Outboard Engine Maintenance Home Study & exam $60

Sea Kayak Home Study & Exam $30
A Short course covering Sea Kayaks, Equipement, Communciation, Emergency proceedures, Planning, Weather, Rules and Navigation.
